IUOE Local 70 has had our first meeting last week with ALLINA Managment in regards to the Layoff and time lines going forward. It does appear due to the scale of the layoff to have a long process all the way to the end. Watch this locationfor further updates
Below are the current steps we are taking during this crisis:
2/4/20 CBS Posting closes but may need to be reposted as part of the grievance process.
2/5/20 last day to give first intent of bumping
2/17/20-2/21/20 first round of awards go out
2/25/20 time to accept new position and second round of awards go out?
2/27/20 Follow up meeting and bumping starts.
• We are in step one where all employees are asked to express your interest into the new CBS positions or if you plan to exercise your bumping rights. Supposedly it is not binding at this time as you could apply and attempt to bump etc. There will also be several rounds of bumping as the bumped employee could have bumping rights else where.
• We also believe the new CBS positions are made up of duties that currently fall to eliminated positions protected under the contract and are pursuing a grievance.
• We are encouraging ALLINA to consider offering a severance package to employees to minimize the bumping for those who prefer to take the layoff.
• Our next meeting is for Feb 27th, however I hope we will be meeting with HR sooner on the grievance.
