12 Hour Refresher Course for
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
Description: The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that 65.6% of HVACR service personnel in the industry in the year 2020 will be people not in the industry today. It is fact that the better an operating engineer’s skill, the better his or her chances of securing and maintaining a job. It’s also a fact that in today’s job market that jobs are hard to come by, which places added emphasis on the individual’s proficiency, diversity of skill and grade of licensure. This class provides hands on training of the refrigeration system operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of residential and commercial refrigeration systems, ice machines and air conditioning units and will include at the completion an opportunity to accrue a CFC certificate.

About the Instructor: Scott Marsyla is a graduate of Dunwoody College of Technology. He has an Associate’s degree in Residential and Commercial HVAC/R and has 13 years of field experience. Licenses and certificates include Chief C Boiler’s license, Universal CFC Certification, 401A Certification, Authorized OSHA Instructor and is a Hazwoper Instructor.
Dates and Times: This class will be held (3) Wednesday Nights, April 8th, 15th and 22nd, from 4:30pm – 8:30 pm. Attendees must currently hold CFC Certification to attend class.
Location: Classes will be held at the Local 70 office, located at: 2722 County Road D East in White Bear Lake, Minnesota 55110 (one block North of Hwy 694).
Cost: Tuition for the class is $210.00 for International Union of Operating Engineers members and $310.00 for non-members. (Cost of educational materials included in price of tuition.
How to Register: To register for the class, please fill out the registration form and mail along with payment to the Local 70 office. You will not be registered for the class until payment and form is received. When registering - In order to provide this training, Local 70 MUST receive payment (Check or Money Order Only) from each student or their employer prior to April 6, 2020. Cancellations will not be accepted after April 7, 2020. Receipt for payment will be mailed. Please call Betty at 651-289-2972 to register for the class and any questions you may have regarding registration or payment.
Tuition Reimbursement: Check with your employer for possible tuition reimbursement.
