30-Hour Low Pressure Boiler Course
Description: Generally speaking, jobs that require higher levels of education, licenses and skill pay higher wages, which places added emphasis on the individual's proficiency, diversity of skill and grade of licensure. This class provides practical information on the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of low pressure boilers and will include information on Minnesota boilers laws that will help you to upgrade all low pressure classifications/licenses.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS: Rob Oase is a 20 year member of Local 70 and a 29 year employee of Inver Grove Heights ISD #199, as a Mechanical Maintenance Chief. He holds a Chief C license since 2001, an EPA 608 Certification, Pollution Control Agency A / B Operator Certification and Energy Management Tech Certification. Rob is also a Local 70 Steward.
Ken Wieken is a 38 year member of Local 70. License and certificates include a Chief C Boiler License since 1998, HAZWOPER Instructor, OSHA General Industry, Industrial Hygiene, Confine Spaces and Electrical Standards. Ken is a Local 70 Business Representative. He is also on the Executive Board and Vice President for Local 70.
Dates/ Times: This class will be held five (5) Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the following dates: February 25th, / March 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, 2023.
Location: Classes will be held at Inver Grove Heights Middle School, 8167 Cahill Avenue, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076, in the Flex Learning Room. (Come in the main entrance of the Middle School and follow signs)
Cost: Tuition for the class is $500.00 for International Union of Operating Engineers members. (Cost of educational materials included in price of tuition)
How to Register: To register for the class, please fill out the registration form (available on our website-www.iuoe70.org) and mail along with payment to the Local 70 office. You will not be registered for the class until payment and form are received. When registering - In order to provide this training, Local 70 MUST receive payment (Check or Money Order Only) from each student or their employer prior to February 16, 2023. Cancellations will not be accepted after February 16, 2023. Receipt for payment will be mailed. Tuition Reimbursement: Check with your employer for possible tuition reimbursement. Local 70 will direct bill your employer if that option is available to you at your jobsite.
